The Countdown is ON!

My plan is to start Pole to Pole on 27 July 2027. 

Exciting and mildly terrifying! Particularly when I look at my 500+ line long project plan. But hey ho, I’m either overwhelmed or bored…

The milestone reached this month was launching this incredible website. A huge shoutout to Josh and his team at Launchpad Digital who took my notes and thought bubbles and turned them into this fantastic website. And thanks Cassandra for the intro to Josh! I am so thrilled with this website, it’s beyond anything I imagined and I’ve been raring to share it. 

It’s more than a website – this is a critical part of the Mission, which is twofold:

• Building the Dream Movement – a community of people creating and chasing their dreams with a goal of 1,000,000 dream shared through the website
• Raising funds for organisations on the frontline combating modern slavery and increasing awareness of this growing global issue

Dream Movement

This has evolved from sharing dreams and downloading a kit to a program of downloads, templates and videos, and a space for a community to share their questions, progress, and challenges. I’ll be running Q+As and sessions to go deeper into the content. 

This is being run through Skool, a separate platform designed to build communities just like this. I am excited by how the Dream Movement concept has evolved and grown into a community with the scope for me to give people more support as they chase their dreams. 

While it’s exciting and rewarding to chase our dreams, it can be a lonely affair. Following that advice to have that perfect five people to surround ourselves with is simple in theory, not always so easy in practice. With the Dream Movement, you get your tribe. 

And it supports everything I share through the Dream Chaser program – having accountability, support around you, celebrating progress, and more. And the great thing is, I will literally be in the arena with them as I work towards my big dream. None of what I share is theoretical!

There’s also the Dream Creator program for those still searching for their big, juicy, exciting dream. I’ve been there, I know what it feels like to be searching for more. That’s where I was at in 2016 when I decided it was time for change and for something big…that led to my Nile expedition. What I share is what worked for me, and I’m confident it will help others. 

I will be looking for a sponsor for the Dream Movement – I think it’s a compelling story for the right company with the potential to be in front of a growing, engaged audience. Heaps more than putting a logo on a t-shirt. 

The Cause

I am thrilled to announce the first charity that I will be raising funds for through this expedition – the International Justice Mission (IJM). I met with IJM Australia’s CEO David Braga and some of his team. We’ve had some great conversations and they have helped shape my messaging, while also providing images and videos for me to use on this website. 

It feels like a real partnership– which I really value. 

I’m not in a position to take donations just yet. I am creating a foundation (with DGR status) so it is simple for me to support more than one charity and gives me flexibility. So high up on the to-do list is setting up thisfoundation – a bit to do as I also need some tax advice. I’m rattling the tin to see if I can get some pro-bono support for all of this. 

The Cause is another sponsorship offering – I am sharing tools and creating awareness of steps we can take as individuals and organisations. When it comes to organisations, for consulting and legal firms that provide advice in this space, this is an opportunity for them to promote what they offer. And with the donations coming through my foundation and this website, there is more potential to get exposure as a sponsor. 

Next Steps

At this point, I should probably pass you over to Claude.ai to let you know… I have a weekly check-in with Claude to let me know what’s overdue, what’s coming up and what the priorities are. Claude is proving to be an excellent Project Director and accountability buddy. 

The next key milestones are setting up the foundation, beginning to get people sharing their dreams and getting 30% sponsored by December this year. 

Sponsorship is the big focus – no sponsors, no Pole to Pole. The structure at the moment:

• Dream Movement sponsor 
• Cause sponsor
• Leg sponsors – Europe, Africa, the Atlantic, South America, and Antarctica 
• Service and equipment sponsors – which ideally will also have a cash element 
• Trailblazer Alliance – this will be for small group of high-net-worth individuals who will effectively get a front seat to the expedition as it unfolds
